An edited edition ( the ms diaries ran to some 28 volumes ) of the diary of Clarissa Trant [ 1800 – 1844 ] which she kept until her marriage in 1832. She travelled widly in her youth & rejected 12 suitors. The diary is quite lively – the entry for October 5th, 1829 reads – ‘I was doomed to spend another nonsensical morning varied by the arrival of Lady T….
